Greetings for a Happy Activity Day!

Activity Day is a themed event day full of child-centred age- appropriate play, activities and entertainment. It is a fun and exciting day, encouraging interaction between children of all ages. Not all learning has to happen in the classroom. Activities help the students to become a more well-rounded individual, to do better in the classroom, and give them a competitive edge when applying to college.

Activities allow the students to pursue their interests and fuel their passion. Succeeding in the activities students love gives their self-confidence a massive boost. BRS school- Bidaraguppe celebrated Activity Day for the month of August with enthusiasm. It was conducted in the indoor stadium. The activity of Grade- 1 was ‘Talk Time’. Talk Time helps students to process their learning. Talking about and explaining concepts gives students an opportunity to explore topics. Students learn from one another. Talk Time sets the stage for public speaking with confidence. Students spoke about National Leaders – Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru etc. This made them more aware of the contributions and sacrifices made for the freedom of India. They were inspired by their great qualities to become better individuals.

Grade-2 activity was collage making. By combining a wide range of materials striking works of collage were created.

Grade-3 Activity was creating card making of Independence Day or any concept. Making greeting cards personalizes them, and allows them to connect on an emotional level with the people who have touched our lives. Grade-4 to Grade- 8 had Ganesha making. Making models of Lord Ganesha was a relaxing and creative activity. Interacting and sharing material improved social communication and created awareness of the festival – Ganesh Chaturthi.

Activity Day proved to be a day of exploring passions and discovering things beyond academics.
