Happy Janmashtami!
Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in India. This religious festival falls in the month of August. The auspicious day is celebrated in many different ways. People visit the temple and devotional songs are sung. Janmashtami celebrations are full of festivities and fun; bright colours and enjoyment.
Lord Krishna was born over 5000 years ago in Mathura. The sole aim of his birth was to free the earth from evil powers. The significance of the festival lies in one fact: the destruction of evil and the prevalence of good and positive things.
BRS Global School, Bidaraguppe, celebrated Janmashtami with immense fervour. The beautifully decorated ground floor of the school lent a festive air. The tiny tots of the Montessori section came in splendid array, dressed to depict Lord Krishna and Radha. There was the traditional lighting of the lamp and pooja with aarti by Madam Principal Mrs. Shailaja V. K. The principal applied butter on the lips of children depicting Lord Krishna symbolic of his love for butter. There was “Handi” breaking and rhythmic dance. It was delightful to see the toddlers dancing with gusto. Sweets were distributed. The celebration concluded with a photo session.
May the blessings of Lord Krishna always be with you and your family!
