National Space Day, observed annually on 23rd August is dedicated to promoting interest in space science and honouring the achievements and contributions of space exploration. It is celebrated to commemorate the success of chandrayaan- 3 mission. BRS Global school, ranked among the best CBSE schools on Sarjapur Road, celebrated National Space Day on 23/08/2024 with a series of exciting and educational activities for students across all grades, embracing this year’s theme, “Touching Lives While Touching the Moon: India’s Space Saga.” Students from grade 1 to grade 4 participated in a creative activity involving colouring and naming the planets of the solar system. This hands-on task not only sparked their imagination but also helped them learn about the planets and their positions in our solar system in an enjoyable and interactive manner.
A house-wise quiz competition was held for the students of grade 5 to grade 8, challenging their knowledge of space and astronomy. The quiz covered various aspects of space science, from the history of space exploration to current missions and discoveries, fostering a deeper understanding and enthusiasm for the subject.
Students of grade 9 to grade 12 were engaged in a lecture competition, where they prepared and presented talks on topics related to space or notable scientists in the field of astronomy. This activity encouraged thorough research, critical thinking, and effective communication, allowing students to explore complex concepts and share their insights with peers.
The diverse range of activities provided opportunities for students of all ages to participate in and appreciate the wonders of space, aligning with the spirit of National Space Day. The events were well-received, and students actively engaged with the theme, showcasing their enthusiasm for space exploration. The day was a great success, highlighting the significant impact of space science on our lives and celebrating India’s space journey.
