Happy Teachers’ Day!

To the world you may just be a teacher, but to your students you are a star. Teachers are respected and honoured for their important contribution in shaping individuals. Every year 5 th September is celebrated as Teachers’ Day in India. It marks the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was a great teacher and philosopher. He was the second president of independent India. The contributions and efforts made by teachers never go unnoticed. Students show their gratitude and appreciation, by conducting festive programs in schools and colleges.

The students of BRS School, Bidaraguppe organized Teachers’ Day celebration with zeal and enthusiasm. The program began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Principal madam, Mrs. Shailaja V.K and the teachers. This was followed by cake cutting. A wide range of songs and dances followed. The students of Grades 7 and 8 performed for teachers. The scintillating welcome dance by Grade 8, highlighted their warm regard for their teachers. There was also a rhythmic group dance, a melodious song by the students of Grade 7 and 8, and a skit.

Numerous fun filled games were planned for teachers. There was a gift for teachers from the management and a memento from students. In the middle of the program, Winners Certificates for monthly activities were given to the students.

The students had half-day school. The staff members were taken for a sumptuous lunch. The fun-filled day was a memorable one for teachers. Teachers’ Day celebration strengthens the bond between teachers and students. Teachers feel privileged when their students appreciate their efforts. A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart. Teachers are one of the first role models and mentors that students have in their lives.
