Happy Children’s Day!
Children are the best creation of God, they spread joy in every season. Children’s Day is celebrated on 14th November every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of our first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He loved children dearly and is fondly remembered as Chacha Nehru. Nehru stressed the need for the education of children as he believed that they are the future of the nation. Children’s Day is celebrated across India to raise awareness about the rights, education and welfare of children. It is a day to make children feel special and loved. Teachers entertain children by giving various performances.
The staff of BRS school Bidaraguppe made the children happy by making the day a memorable one. The celebration took place in the auditorium. The programme started with a short “fun” assemble performed by the teachers. There was the regular thought for the day and news reading, but in a fun way.
After this there was a dance by two teachers. Then there was a speech by the Principal, Mrs Shailaja V.K and speech by one teacher. The speeches brought out the significance of celebrating Children’s Day relating it to Pandit Nehru. A special dance performance by the dance sir was amazing. After this there was a mesmerising dance by all the teachers, which the children enjoyed immensely. The programme ended with a song wishing the children success in all their endeavours.
The children were thrilled with the gifts given to them – pen sets, chocolates, painting things, pencils, erasers and so many.
The day proved to be one of joy and delight. Childhood is about innocence and playfulness. Let us strive to make it meaningful by helping children to expand their thinking by being innovative.
