Activities are an integral part of education and help in the development of the total personality of a child. One does not know how much talent lies within a child. Activity provides chances to explore out the pearls from the sea-depths of the young mind. Activities are necessary at all levels. They are building blocks providing experiences with positive effects – better grades, stress relief, kindle social relationships, boost self-esteem, enhance creativity and most importantly provide fun.
BRS School, Bidaraguppe had a host of activities on 18th November 2022. The activities were conducted in the indoor stadium. Grades 1 and 2 had origami. Origami is an art of folding paper into decorative shapes and figures. It is a source of creative expression, and is engaging and constructive. The students were absorbed in the craft of making paper boats, fish, baskets, pencil stands, flowers etc.
Grade 3 had the activity of drawing. Drawing helps one to think creatively, develop hand-eye co-ordination and is a self-esteem booster.
Grades 4, 5 and 6 had the activity of Badge making. The students made badges depicting the red and yellow state flag of Karnataka. This activity created a sense of pride for the state.
Grades 7 and 8 had the activity – speech on freedom fighters and poets of Karnataka. The speeches were made in Kannada. A speech is an instrument of communication which helps develop effective oratorical skills. It builds self- confidence and allows sharing of thoughts and ideas. Through this activity the students gained knowledge of our freedom fighters and Kannada poets. There were 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for each class. This encouraged keen participation.
The day proved to be a fruitful one filled with fun and enthusiasm. It facilitated enhancement of creativity and brought out the talents in the students.
