Happy Independence Day!
Let your spirit fly high with the Indian flag. Independence Day is celebrated on 15th August every year. On this day in the year 1947, India became independent from British colonial rule. The national flag is hoisted at Red Fort in Delhi, and in schools, colleges, offices etc. There are grand march past and cultural activities, Significant accomplishments in the past are recalled, and our vision for India is renewed. Celebration at an institution makes a child aware of his rich cultural heritage. He imbibes values of brotherhood of all faiths, creeds and religions. These values nurture nationalism and patriotism.
BRS Global School, Bidaraguppe celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour. The band played as guests came in. The honourable Chairman, Shri Rajashekar Reddy, and Madam Principal Mrs. Sailaja V. K did the traditional lighting of the lamps. Flag hoisting by the Chairman followed by invocation song was performed on the school ground. A student of Grade-4 performed ‘Silambam’ – The Martial art form. The cultural program was conducted in the auditorium. It began with a welcome by Mrs. Geetha. A fancy-dress program was performed by the toddlers. It was delightful to see toddlers from the Montessori section dressed as Mahatma Gandhiji, Subhas Chandra Bose, Sarojini Naidu and Bhagat Singh. The pyramid formation was spectacular. Aditi of Grade-4 gave a speech in Kannada, and Vaishnavi of Grade-8 gave an English speech. There were lovely dances by students of Grade – 6 and 7; and students of Grades-8
Madam Principal Shailaja V. K gave an inspiring speech stressing the importance of hope. There was prize distribution to the Karate champions by the Chairman and Principal. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Rajeshwari.
