On 26/11/24, Tuesday, the students from grade 6 to 12 from BRS Global School, ranked as the best CBSE school in Sarjapur Road participated in the Mountains of Life Festival held at Azim Premji University which aimed at educating students about the humans and wildlife in mountains.
The Session started after breakfast which was served around 10.00 am. The session was on the topic ‘GHOST OF MOUNTAINS: ECOLOGY AND CONSERVATION OF SNOW LEOPARDS’ by Ravi Chellam ( CEO Metastring Foundation & Coordinator, Biodiversity Collaborative). The session was very informative and students could clarify their doubts during the Q&A session.
Followed by this session the students were divided into two groups. Group A had a session on the topic ‘SACRED HILLS OF THE TODA PEOPLE OF SOUTH INDIA’ which was an interactive and informative session that explained the life of tribal people in mountains. Grades B had a group discussion on waste management followed by a presentation.
The session ended with an exhibition of mountain ranges in India, Western and Eastern Ghats, wildlife, human life and climate. The whole day came to an end with a sumptuous lunch.
