TRIP TO BANNERGHATTA NATIONAL PARK 2022

Bannerghatta National Park is located about 22 km south of Bengaluru in the hills of the Anekal range, with an elevation of 1245-1634 m. The 65,127.5-acre national park, was founded in 1970 and declared as a national park in 1974. In 2002, a small portion of the park became a zoological garden, the Bannerghatta Biological Park.

There are ancient temples in the park for worship, and it is a destination for trekking and hiking. The park offers a wide range of diverse wildlife. Coming from the finest of Bengaluru, Karnataka, this park offers a guided bus tour all along the 6 km safari road which is specially made for safarists and foreign tourist gatherers. The park is a part of a wildlife corridor for elephants, which connects the BR Hills and the Sathyamangalam forest.

The Swarnamukhi stream runs through the national park.

It was delightful day for Montessori 1 – 3 of BRS Global School, Bidaraguppe. They went to Bannerghatta National Park on 16th December 2022. The Bannerghatta Zoo is a unit of park. They started from school at 9.15 a.m. and reached Bannerghatta Zoo by 10.15 a.m. The kids had their breakfast and were ready for a safari ride around 11 a.m. They were excited to see the wild animals. First, they saw Sambars and spotted deer, followed by bears, elephants, lions and tigers. The teachers explained them about tigers an endangered species.

Then they went to the Butterfly Park. The Butterfly Garden conserved the butterfly population. The children were overjoyed seeing the colourful butterflies flying around them. After this they had their lunch, and set out walking to see other animals. They saw zebras, cheetahs, hippos, foxes, wolves and hyenas. The teachers told them about the natural habitats of animals. They also saw reptiles.

like crocodiles and snakes. The majestic white swans, colourful peacocks, parrots and hornbills were a beautiful sight to behold.

After a day of fun and learning, they were back at school at 4.30 p.m. It was a memorable day for the children and teachers too. It was an awesome experiences seeing animals which they had seen in books only.
