A special assembly was convened on 14/06/2024 (Friday) in BRS Global School, Kasavanahalli, ranked among the best CBSE schools in Sarjapur Road, on the topic “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs”. The primary objective was to cultivate self-awareness along with prolific suggestions on the well-being of ourselves, our posterities, and the society we belong to.

The assembly began with verbal and pictorial illustrations by the students, through banners and posters on how drug addiction begins and transcends under the guise of experimentation or peer pressure and finally devastates endless lives.

Moreover, an oration was delivered by the principal Ms. Manjula B.V. on how drug addictions wreaks health hazards, mental health crises, social isolation, chronic disorders, depression, estranges family relations, and disrupts communal harmony.

The discussion was followed by several ways of prevention, fostering social awareness for the common people, and providing robust support systems to the victims through peer mentoring, counselling services, and rehabilitation programs.

Finally, the assembly concluded with a pledge on “Say Yes to Life and No to Drugs”. To reinforce the event, the students were also encouraged to participate in their respective grade-level activities related to drawing and colouring, essay and poetry writing, recitation, elocutions, jingles, mime acts, posters and collage making and role plays.
