To mark the first day of the sun’s transition to Capricorn, people in India celebrate Makar Sankranti. This day marks the midwinter end and the duration of the day increases after this day.

With different names in different parts of India, we celebrate Makar Sankranti. At BRS Global School, the Montessori children made kites, recited shlokas and decorated the school with colourful Rangoli. The entire day had a festive spirit while they sang and danced.
