Happy Republic Day!
Every year on 26th January, the whole country comes together and celebrates Republic Day. This year, India celebrated its 74th Republic Day. 26th January is a national holiday in India, and this day commemorates the historic sacrifices that led India to be a sovereign, independent nation. Educational institutions, organizations proudly hoist the Indian National Flag to mark this day. A grand celebration that includes military parades, and hoisting the national flag is held in Delhi, the national capital of India. The Prime Minister and President are present at this celebration. Stunts are performed by the defence military forces and professionals who make it all a spectacular show.
Indian’s constitution came into effect on this day, on 26th January 1950.
BRS School, Bidaraguppe celebrated Republic Day with patriotic zeal and fervour. The programme began at about 9.30 a.m. The madam Secretary Mrs. Bhagya Reddy was welcomed by the band playing in unison. An impressive marchpast by the students followed. Then there was a special welcome for Mrs. Bhagya Reddy madam, who was the guest for the occasion. The traditional lighting of the lamp was done by the Principal, Mrs. Shailaja V.K madam and Mrs. Bhagya madam. The flag hoisting followed. A grade 3 student Rohan Amara, played the National Anthem on the piano. Students of grade 6 to 8 performed “Karate Katas” which was spectacular. Students of grades 3,4 and 5 performed their drill smartly. ‘Vandemataram’ was sung melodiously by grade 3 students. The principal madam and Mrs. Elizabeth madam gave inspiring speeches. The programme ended with a vote of thanks. Sweets were distributed to all the students.
