Let your spirit fly high with the Indian flag. Independence Day is celebrated on15 th August every year. On this day in the year 1947, India became independentfrom British colonial rule. The national flag is hoisted at Red Fort in Delhi, andin schools, colleges, offices etc. There are grand march past and culturalactivities, Significant accomplishments in the past are recalled, and our visionfor India is renewed. Celebration at an institution makes a child aware of hisrich cultural heritage. He imbibes values of brotherhood of all faiths, creeds andreligions. These values nurture nationalism and patriotism.
BRS Global School, Bidaraguppe celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour. The eminent guest Mr. Rajshekar Reddy ,Miss. Mahima Shree Reddy andparents were given a grand welcome by our school band and the Scouts & Guidesfollowed by the March Past where in our students showcased their talent by marching. Our Chairman Shri. Rajshekar Reddy hoisted our national flag followedby the national anthem and national song by our students. The parents showedtheir patriotic fervour by attending the programme. Later, they were requested to assemble in the auditorium. Lighting of the lamp followed by the Robot marchand the flag hoisting at Red fort model by robotic students was eye catching event.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp and a prayer song and a welcome dance and the welcome speech by Dr. Rajeshwari M.S. A student ofGrade-5 performed ‘Silambam’ – The Martial art form. There were karate display,Jingles, Hoopes and Lezims Folk dance performance. Fancy – dress programmewas performed by the toddlers, it was delightful to see toddlers from theMontessori section dressed as Mahatma Gandhiji, Subhas Chandra Bose, SarojiniNaidu and Bhagat Singh. The pyramid formation was spectacular. Students gave speech about Independence Day in all the grades. Scouts and Guides students of Grade 1 to 7 beautifully sang Flag song and prayer song followed by the Scouts and Guides clap. A student of Grade – 5 played a patriotic song on guitar.
Principal Mrs. Shakila N gave an inspiring speech and Miss. Mahima Shree Reddy, the daughter of the Chairman gave a motivational speech, stressing the importance of hope. There was certificate distribution to the winners of the monthly activities by the Chairman and Principal. There was a feeling of pride and patriotism in everyone’s heart. The programme was concluded with a vote
of thanks by Mrs. Geeta.
