Happy activity day!

A school is the workshop of life building skills. The principal and teachers are moulders of students. Academic distinctions alone do not fulfil all the purpose for which the school exists. Activities are necessary to bring out the natural talents in students. One does not know how much talent lies in a child. The school has to provide opportunities to explore out the pearls from the sea-depths of the young mind. Excellence has to be encouraged and rewarded. Activities are an ongoing effort towards developing the potential of students. They help in building self-esteem and confidence, apart from providing recreation. Activities help to improve academic scores and social life.

BRS Global School, Bidaraguppe conducts activities regularly. Students look forward to Activity Day. Activity Day was conducted for Grades 1 – 8 on 19th December, 2022. There were different activities for different grades. Prizes 1,2 and 3 encouraged keen participation and healthy competition.

Grade 1-3 had the activity of handwriting reinforces our reading and language processing skills. Writing allows time to slow down the thought process, enabling the writers to think about the words how they are spelt and the structure of writing; all making the writer more a dept at the language they are using. Those who write legibly and articulately have an immense advantage over others.

Grade 4-6 had the activity – Decorating Christmas trees. Christmas time is a season of merriment; warmth, gifts and decorations. The students brought beautiful decorations and decorated the Christmas trees in BRS School campus. The decorating created a festive atmosphere. Putting up the decorations delightful for the students and enhanced their creativity; it also taught co- operation and team work.

Grade 7-8 had the activity – “Best out of waste”. This activity helps in creating awareness to controlling waste, and thereby to protect the environment. It enables creativity and innovation. It develops the ability to think and organize the thinking to create something useful. The students made useful articles – photo frames, flower pots, pen stands, mobile stands, wall hangings etc. All these impressive things were made from reusable materials like card board, newspapers, ice crem sticks and more.

Activity – Day was a day of fun, creation and innovation.
