COMMUNICATION THAT IS OFTEN MISCOMMUNICATED 2022

 “Good communication is the bridge between confusion and clarity.”

The purpose of communication is to convey information from one person to another. Through the choice of written and spoken words, ideas, concepts, emotions, thoughts, and opinions are exchanged. Unfortunately, miscommunication is common – the listener or reader fails to understand what is said or written.

Mr. Santosh started his career as a consultant and Soft Skills Trainer. He is presently working as CEO at QtSTEAM and Mentor at QtPi Robotics. After his college education from NITK, Surathkal, he worked as a researcher at University of Eindhoven, University of Twente, and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He was also the Placement President while working at IISc, Bangalore. He has over twenty-five publications of mostly research documents in national and international journals. He has also authored sixteen conference papers and written articles For Vijaya Times, The African Bulletin, The Covai Post.

In the session Santosh sir has described about three kinds of people; Aggressive, passive and assertive. He explained the concept with different activities which were played by the teachers with prop. Sir talked about dismantling; five concepts – Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing and Adjourning.

To demonstrate how communication becomes miscommunicated, Mr. Santosh produced one WhatsApp message of his friend and explained it humorously.

The workshop has good formats for exposing teachers to new information and ideas.

At the end, few faculties gave their feedback explaining how the program helped them to understand that how sometimes communication becomes miscommunication due to misunderstand. In the valedictory address, the Principal congratulated the resource person with an expression of gratitude for organizing the programme successfully and requested the participants to constantly improve upon their skills and competencies for their personal and professional growth. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Geetha and a group photo session.
