Makar Sankranti is one of the most auspicious occasions for the Hindus and is celebrated in almost all parts of India. BRS Global School celebrated Makar Sankranti in the school premises. The festivities are known by various names such as Lohri by North Indian Hindus and Sikhs, Makara Sankranti (Pedda Pandaga) in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, Sukarat in central India, Magh Bihu by Assamese, and Pongal by Tamilians. Students of the pre-primary wing made kites during their virtual classes. Through this activity, they were made aware about the significance of the festival. Groundnuts and sweets were also distributed to one and all.
