On February 21, 2025, the students of BRS Global School, Sarjapur Branch embarked on an educational field trip to Vidhana Soudha, Bangalore—one of Karnataka’s most iconic landmarks. This experiential learning opportunity was organized to enhance students’ understanding of governance, history, and architecture.

A Day of Exploration and Learning

The day began with enthusiasm as students, along with our Principal, dedicated teachers, and the enthusiastic Scouts and Guides team, departed from BRS Global School, Sarjapur, at 9:00 AM. The group arrived at Vidhana Soudha by 10:30 AM, eager to witness the grandeur of Karnataka’s seat of legislature.

Discovering the Magnificence of Vidhana Soudha

Built in 1956, Vidhana Soudha is an architectural masterpiece that seamlessly blends Dravidian, Indo-Saracenic, and Rajasthani styles. The grand staircases, intricate carvings, and majestic domes reflect Karnataka’s rich heritage and democratic spirit.

One of the most memorable moments of the trip was an exclusive tour of the Legislative Assembly Hall. Students had the rare privilege of sitting in the visitor’s gallery, gaining firsthand insight into the functioning of the Karnataka state government. A knowledgeable guide provided fascinating details about the historical and political significance of the building.

Engagement Beyond the Classroom

After an enriching tour, students enjoyed lunch within the Vidhana Soudha premises, fostering camaraderie and reflection on the importance of democracy and governance. This experiential learning trip deepened their understanding of Karnataka’s political and cultural landscape.
