Description:
May your life be filled with the eternal light of knowledge! May Goddess Saraswati Bless You with the ocean of knowledge which never ends….
Wish you a very blessed Aksharabhyasam! Aksharabhyasam or Vidyarambham is a traditional religious function in which a child is given initiation of education. Akshara means ‘letters’ and Abhyasam means ‘practice’. The ceremony is performed with the young child sitting on the lap of its father or elderly person. Holding the child’s forefinger, the child is made to write ‘om’ on a tray of rice. ‘Om’ means the origin of everything. It denotes the starting of writing for a child. It is the start of knowledge for children! This ritual is celebrated throughout India with enthusiasm and fervour. It symbolizes victory over the darkness of illiteracy.
Aksharabhyasam was celebrated in BRS Global School Bidaraguppe on 13th October with auspiciousness and purity. It started with ‘Ganga Puja’ which is done in reverence of purification and forgiveness. This was followed by ‘Go Mata Puja’. This is performed to show appreciation and reverence to the cow. The ritual possesses a symbol of beautiful spirituality and has a deep universal significance. After doing puja to Go-Mata, the principal Mrs. Sailaja V. K and secretary Mrs. Bhagya Reddy madam fed the cow and the calf. The main ceremony was performed inside the school by two priests. The Chairman Mr. Rajashekar Reddy Sir, Secretary madam and Principal madam were present throughout the performance of rituals. Some parents came along with their children.
The ceremony started with Ganesha puja followed by puja to Saraswati Mata. Lord Ganesha is the God of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles, as well as the God of Wisdom. Ma Saraswati is a Goddess who represents education, creativity and music. So, it was appropriate to worship them.
Then ‘havan’ – a fire ritual began. Havan is performed to attain spiritual enlightenment, mental peace and purification of mind and environment. At this time children wrote their first letter on rice and then on a slate in their mother tongue guided by the hands of their parents. Three children took admission for the next academic year on this auspicious day.
At the end prasadam was distributed to everyone. May your life be filled with blessings. May Goddess Saraswati answer all your prayers and give you all mental strength to achieve all your goals and conquer all your challenges to embrace success.
